Why do I have a white furry tongue with red dots? - why does my throat look white

I am 15 years old and recently I saw a stuffed white coating of the tongue (if that is the way to describe), together with small red dots. Can anyone tell me what causes it. I have a dry mouth, sore tongue, sore throat or anything, but when I see, I think, yuk!
